Resonance – A Mother Tongue Project
I’ll be exploring the theme of resonance during a 10-day artist-in-residency with Studio 88 in Doi Saket. I’m interested in how sound interacts with space, and how people connect through listening. In this age of predictable algorithms, I also want to explore improvisation and connecting with other musicians and audiences through spontaneous, shared experiences.
I’m proud to be working with these accomplished Thai artists:
• Ajarn Koh (wooden flute) - Assistant Professor at CMU and ethnomusicologist;
• Khun Geng (cello) - composer, singer, recording artist; and
• Fiws Palita (voice, dance) - performing artist, dancer, and digital creator.
The residency will culminate in an improvised performance on the winter solstice, December 21, 2025, involving voice, a cello, and traditional Thai wooden flute.
