RESEARCH

A deeper dive into a topic or situation is essential for good decision-making and accurate representation of those involved.

The use of arts and culture in dialogue has been used all over the world, for centuries, as a way to build community and connection, cultivate empathy, foster resilience, and create positive change. In order to understand and harness music’s full power as a strategic tool, research must document the broad range of ways it is used, its efficacy for various purposes, outcomes achieved, and other potential applications.

SonicBloom offers literature reviews, development of research methodology, data collection, training in the use of arts/music-based tools in participatory action research, and development of advocacy materials based on evidence-based research on the efficacy of music-based programming.

Previous projects include:

  • Mapping of interfaith actors (ACT Alliance)

  • Akha music traditions in Eastern Shan State

  • Cambodian leaf players

  • The Mother Tongue Project

MONITORING, EVALUATION & LEARNING (MEL)

How do you know if a dialogue program or project is working? Organizations must first understand the current research and know what constitutes success.

Evaluation frameworks helps groups identify values, goals, and outcomes at the outset of a project and maintain a comprehensive perspective during the implementation phase. MEL tools also help organizations communicate their accomplishments to various audiences, allowing them to advocate more effectively with key stakeholders.

SonicBloom helps organizations evaluate their dialogue programming by linking indicators to research, identifying evidence-based goals and objectives, and measuring tangible outcomes.
